Telekom Austria adds 10.5K IPTV Subscribers 2Q08
Telekom Austria added 10.5 thousand IPTV subscribers to its Aon TV IPTV service in 2Q08, ending with 49.1 thousand subscribers. Its broadband market share was 33.5 percent at the end of the quarter.
Telekom Austria is now fully into a commercial phase with its IPTV service. It has substantial competition and its TV service should help it.

Telekom Austria at 50K IPTV Subscribers
Telekom Austria now has 50 thousand IPTV subscribers, this is up 11.4 thousand from the end of 1Q08.
The company is running a summer promotion that provides the aonTV basic package free for the first six months. Subsequently, there will be a charge of 4.90 euros monthly in addition to the broadband line starting at 15.98 euros per month. During this promotion the first set-top box costs 29.90euros .
The basic package has 65 TV channels. For 7.90euros per month the Premium TV package offers an additional 21 entertaining channels such as National Geographic, Disney Channels, E!Entertainment and kabel eins classics. For The aonTV video on demand library has up to 300 films. Films in HD quality, time-delayed and ORF information programs that can also be viewed on demand.

Telekom Austria at 38.6K IPTV Subscribers
Telekom Austria announced that it had 38.6 thousand aonTV IPTV subscribers at the end of 1Q08, an increase of 17.7 thousand during the quarter. It stated that its aonTV service is now available to 52 percent of Austrian households.

Telekom at 20.9K IPTV Subscribers at the end of 2007
In its financial presentation for 2007, Telekom Austria stated that it has 20,900 IPTV subscribers at the end of the year. I already blogged that it had 25 thousand IPTV subscribers at the end of January 2008. The company made the following statements about its aonTV IPTV service:
- Its incremental monthly fee of 4.9 euros per month is the best offering in the Austrian market.
- It is winning customers back with its IPTV service. 25 percent of new aonTV subscribers had previously disconnected their fixed lines.
- aonTV is available to 45 percent of households in Austria

Telekom Austria Has 25K IPTV Subscribers
Telekom Austria ended 2007 with 25 thousand subscribers to its aonTV IPTV service. It is currently adding about 1,000 new subscribers per week. It plans to make the following enhancements to this service in 2008:
- Increasing its video on demand library to 500 movies.
- Offering Hollywood HD movies as part of its video on demand service.
- Increasing the number of broadcast channels to 100.
- Adding a pause/live feature that will make it possible to pause and continue watching both broadcast and video on demand programming.
- The service will be made available to 50 percent of all Austrian households.
